Pipettor Teaching, Automatic (All Modules)

Prerequisites

Note—If a Fusion is installed the Reagent Pipettor teaching to the Elution Track MUST be completed.

Note— Before starting this Teaching procedure, please save the following files *.coo files found in C:\Panther\Software\PC\Data

Panther: Coordinate.coo
Fusion: SidecarCoordinate.coo

Procedure

  1. ClosedClick the Teach All Automatic button.

    ClosedAn Instruction dialog appears.

  2. Remove the Reagent Bay lids, insert the Reagent Bay teach tools in lanes 2 and 4, and click OK.

  3. Remove the Tip Trays from both Tip Drawers and click OK.

  4. Remove the center divider and click OK.

    ClosedAn Instruction dialog appears.

  5. Insert the TCRClosedTarget capture reagent—An assay-specific reagent added as part of specimen pipetting. teach tool and click OK.

    Note—ClosedThere are 3 different styles of TCR Mixer, shown in the following pictures.
    ClosedTeach tool 903052 used for the older style, metal TCR Mixer:

    ClosedTeach tool MME-02076 used for the newer style, plastic TCR Mixer:

    ClosedThere is no teach tool needed for the 21 position TCR Carousel:

    ClosedA Warning dialog appears.

  6. Click OK.

    ClosedAn Instruction dialog appears.

  7. Place an auto-teach cap on the left Pipettor probe and click OK.

  8. Place an auto-teach cap on the right Pipettor probe and click OK.
  9. Allow the Teacher software to complete the process. This takes approximately 20 minutes.

    ClosedAn Information dialog appears when the auto-teaching process is complete.

  10. Click OK.

  11. Remove the Reagent Bay teach tools, install the Reagent Bay lids, and click OK.

  12. Insert the Tip Trays into both Tip Drawers and click OK.

  13. Insert the center divider and click OK.

    ClosedAn Instruction dialog appears.

  14. Remove the TCR teach tool and click OK.
  15. ClosedClick the Transfer button.
  16. ClosedClick the Quit button and press Cancel to complete the procedure.
  17. If any errors occur during the process, complete the following steps:
    1. Select the Init Button to initialize all affected modules.
    2. Teach the Pipettor to the individual affected module(s), either manually or automatically.
    3. If individual teaching was successful, select the Transfer Button to save the new coordinates.
    4. Perform a Teach All Automatic procedure.
  18. If this is an install, continue to Load Service Software Customer Parameters.
