MTU Input Queue Barcode Scanner Removal and Replacement

Laser Warning—This product utilizes internal barcode scanners with visible red laser light. Long term viewing of the laser light could result in eye damage.   • 30 minutes (does not include re-teaching the Distributor)

Removal Procedure

  1. Put on proper PPE.
  2. Shutdown the Panther System and PC.
  3. Remove the Luminometer Injector.
  4. Carefully open the Service Drawer.
  5. Perform a cleaning.
  6. ClosedRemove the screws from the MTUClosedMulti-tube unit—Container used to process tests in the instrument. An MTU contains five separate reaction tubes. The MTU is moved through the instrument by the linear distributor and includes five tiplets for pipettiing to be used in the mag wash station. barcode scanner bracket.

  7. ClosedRemove the two screws that secure the scanner to the bracket.

  8. ClosedUnscrew the scanner connection to the main PCB.

  9. Remove the MTU barcode scanner

Replacement Procedure

  1. Reverse the removal procedure.
  2. Verify that all screws are in place.

Alignment/Calibration

  1. Align the Distributor to the MTU Input Queue.
  2. Align the Distributor to the MTU Scanner.

Verification

  1. Perform a System Level Operational Qualification.
