Remote Service Link (RSL) Operational Qualification

This procedure entails testing RSL by performing a Send Logs packet and verifying it arrives on the correct EFT site.

Note—
For RSL to function correctly the last 5 digits of the System Serial Number MUST be recorded in the Panther GUI.

Parts and Materials Required

  • Panther PC Workstation
  • PC with EFT access

Time Required

  • 10 minutes

Procedure

  1. Restart the system.
  2. Log in to the Panther System software with:
  • Username: admin
  • Password: pantherx
  1. Once the system reaches the Setup state, select the Messages button on the Menu Bar.
  2. Click the Send Logs button located near the bottom of the Messages screen.
  3. Click the Send to Service Support or the Send to Gen-Probe button.
  4. When prompted, click Yes to continue and wait for the operation to complete.
  5. Once the operation is completed, close the Panther System software.
  6. Log in to the Panther FSE Shield software.
  7. Open Windows Explorer.
  8. Navigate to the C:\panther\software\pc\bin\exporttogp directory.
  9. Verify there are no files inside the folder. If a Send Logs packet is still in the folder, wait 3 minutes and refresh the window.
  10. Login to the System's EFT site at eft.gen-probe.com.
  • Username: userXXXXX
  • Password: pwXXXXX

Where XXXXX is the Serial Number of the Panther System with leading 0s.

  1. Verify that the file is located on the EFT site.
