Molded TCR Carousel Module Removal and Replacement

Removal Procedure

  1. Put on proper PPE.
  2. Power down the Panther System.
  3. Ensure that the Sample Pipettor is out of the way, so that it will not be damaged.
  4. ClosedUsing a 4 mm ball driver or Allen key, unscrew the two mounting bolts at the front of the module.
  5. ClosedUsing a 4 mm ball driver or Allen key, unscrew the mounting bolt near the scanner housing.
  6. ClosedUsing a 3 mm ball driver or Allen key, unscrew the mounting bolt near the Endozime cup.
  7. ClosedLocate the TCRClosedTarget capture reagent—An assay-specific reagent added as part of specimen pipetting. Carousel PCB in the scanner housing and unplug the CAN cable that goes from the TCR Carousel to the COP.
  8. Pull the TCR Carousel out of the system.
    Note—If returning the module, decontaminate the module and complete the COD/OBF/RMA Form [19-02-APX-A].

Replacement Procedure

  1. Install a new molded TCR Carousel into the system.
  2. Plug in the CAN cable.
  3. Secure the module with all four bolts that secure the TCR Carousel.
  4. Remove any TCR cup adapters from the old TCR Carousel and place them in the new TCR Carousel.
  5. Install Panther System firmware.

Alignment/Calibration

  1. Teach the Sample Pipettor to the TCR Carousel.

Verification

  1. Load a TCR bottle with at least 20 mL of saline in slot 1 of the TCR Carousel.
  2. Start up Service Software.
  3. Click the Pipettor tab.
  4. Initialize the Pipettors, TCR Carousel, Tip Drawers, and the Reagent Module.
  5. Click the Move tab.
  6. In the Right Arm box, select a tip tray position containing a tip and double-click the position to move the pipettor to that location.
  7. Click Pick in the Tip section under Right Arm.
  8. In the Right Arm box, select TCR Carousel and double-click position 1x1 to move the pipettor to this position.
  9. Click Bar in the LLD section under Right Arm.
  10. Ensure the tip goes into the bottle without hitting the sides of the bottle opening.
