MTU Input Queue Slave PCB Removal and Replacement

  • 30 minutes (does not include re-teaching the Distributor)

Removal Procedure

  1. Put on proper PPE.
  1. Shutdown the Panther System and PC.
  2. Remove the Luminometer Injector.
  3. Carefully open the Service Drawer.
  4. ClosedOpen the MTUClosedMulti-tube unit—Container used to process tests in the instrument. An MTU contains five separate reaction tubes. The MTU is moved through the instrument by the linear distributor and includes five tiplets for pipettiing to be used in the mag wash station. Input Queue.
  5. Locate the slave board at the back end of the MTU Input Queue.
  6. ClosedDisconnect all connectors and remove the three 2.5 mm screws.
  7. Remove the MTU Input Queue slave PCB.

Replacement Procedure

  1. Reverse the removal procedure.
  2. Verify that all screws are in place.

Verification

  1. Using Service Software, verify that the drawer sensor reads "Out" when the drawer is open and "In" when the drawer is closed.
    1. Place one or more MTUs in the Input Queue. 
    2. Press Push MTU. Let the module pack and count the MTUs.
    3. ClosedPress Read to get the sensor readings of the Input Queue. The Drawer sensor should read IN, the Packing Sensor should read OUT, the MTU-Pusher sensor should read IN and the Packing Rear Sensor should read IN.
    4. Press Unlock Drawer. Wait until the drawer unlocks and open the MTU drawer but do not open the drawer. 
    5. ClosedPress Read to get the sensor readings of the Input Queue. The Drawer sensor should read IN, the Packing Sensor should read OUT, the MTU-Pusher sensor should read IN and the Packing Rear Sensor should read OUT.
    6. Open the Input Queue drawer. 
    7. ClosedPress Read to get the sensor readings of the Input Queue. The Drawer sensor should read OUT, the Packing Sensor should read OUT, the MTU-Pusher sensor should read IN and the Packing Rear Sensor should read OUT.
    8. Remove all MTUs from the Input Queue, including the last MTU that has been packed. 
    9. Close the Input Queue Drawer and press Push MTU. Let the module attempt to pack and count MTUs.
    10. ClosedPress Read to get the sensor readings of the Input Queue. The Drawer sensor should read IN, the Packing Sensor should read IN, the MTU-Pusher sensor should read OUT and the Packing Rear Sensor should read IN.
  2. Perform a System Level Operational Qualification.
