Cooling Module Pump Removal and Replacement (Single Fan)
Parts and Materials Required
- Allen wrench, 2.5 mm
- Allen wrench, 3 mm
- Proper PPE

- 30 minutes (does not include Cooling Module removal/replacement)
Removal Procedure
- Put on proper PPE.
- This procedure can be performed by either removing the cooling module from the system OR accessing the Cooling Module Pump from the side of the system and with the Midbay Drawer open. The photos in this procedure show the Cooling Module removed from the system.
- Open the right-side panel and access the Cooling Module.
- If present, remove the foam cover from the cooling pump. If the cooling pump does not have a foam cover, proceed to Step 5.
Using a 2.5 mm Allen wrench, remove the 2 mounting screws.
Unplug the liquid coolant pump connector from the PCB.
- Place an absorbent pad on top of the Cooling Module.
- Label the input and output tubes so they are reconnected properly.
Place the pump on the absorbent pad.
- Over the absorbent pad, remove the input and output tubes from the circulation pump.
 | Note — Use absorbent pad to collect all dripping fluid. |
- Remove the circulation pump cover and discard.
- Proceed to Replacement procedure.
Unplug the liquid coolant pump connector from the PCB.
- Label the input and output tubes so they are reconnected properly.
Remove the input and output luer connectors from the cooling module pump.
- Use an absorbent pad to collect all dripping fluid.
Remove the two 2.5 mm screws that secure the liquid coolant pump in place.
- Remove the liquid coolant pump from the Liquid Cooling Module.
Replacement Procedure
- Reverse the removal procedure.
- Reinstall the Cooling Module, if the Cooling Module was removed.
Verification
- Visually inspect the fluid height within the Cooling Module.
- Verify the temperatures of the Sample Bay and Reagent Bay.
- If the Cooling Module was removed.
- Verify vacuum pressure.
- Verify that the Universal Fluid Drawer opens, closes, locks, and unlocks.
- Verify that the Waste Drawer opens, closes, locks, and unlocks.
- Verify that the waste bag presence sensor operates.
- Verify Liquid Waste Bottle level sensing.
