Interlocks Verification Procedures
Verifying Functionality of the Universal Fluid Drawer Sensor Mechanism
- Open the Universal Fluid Drawer.
- In Service Software, navigate to Liquid, Vacuum Cooling System.
- Select the Main tab.
- Select the Universal Fluid tab.
- Press Read Drawer Sensor.
The sensor should read OPEN while the drawer is open.
- Securely close the drawer.
- Press Read Drawer Sensor again.
The sensor should read CLOSED while the drawer is closed.
Verifying Functionality of the Waste Drawer Sensor and Locking Mechanism
- In Service Software, navigate to Liquid, Vacuum Cooling System.
- Select the Main tab.
- Select Vacuum and Waste Drawer.
- Under Interlock Drw, press Unlock.
- Open the Waste Drawer, remove the waste bag, and press Read in the Sensors section. Record the results.
The Interlock value should read 1.
- Reinstall the waste bag and close the drawer.
- Under Interlock Drw, press Lock.
- Press Read.
The Interlock value should be 0.
Verifying Functionality of Tip Drawer Sensors and Locking Mechanisms
- In Service Software, navigate to 2. Front and Loading Units.
- Select the Main tab.
- Select Bay Sensors and Tip Drawer
- Navigate to Disposable Tip Rack.
- Press Misc.
- Press Unlock for both right and left drawers.
- Open both drawers, press Read. The Read should state OPEN.
- Close both drawers.
- Press Lock for both right and left drawers.
- Press Read again. The Read should state LOCK.
Verifying Start Up and Output Queue Visual Gravemetrics
- Place 10 MTUs randomly throughout the system with the Distributor in Service Software.
- Exit Service Software and start up the System software.
- Make sure the initialization sequence is complete and goes into unloading of MTUs.
- During the first MTUs, monitor the bleach and buffer lines to be sure there are no leaks at connections, pumps, and/or valves.
- Monitor the Output Queue as it dispenses fluid into the tube. Make sure each tube is receiving the same amount of fluid and that the module is placing the MTUs onto its stack properly and consistently.
Prime the System
- Check all universal fluids and replenish as necessary.
- Make sure the Liquid Waste Bottle and the Solid Waste Container are emptied.
- Perform a system prime on the system.
- Monitor all fluid lines from the universal fluid lines and make sure there are no leaks from connections, bottles, or valves.
- Make sure the prime sequence finishes successfully and record any findings
