Packing Preparation

This procedure involves the following steps:

Pack Racks

  1. ClosedPlace the Sample Racks in bubble wrap and tape to avoid any damage to the racks.
  2. ClosedPlace the Reagent Rack in bubble wrap and tape to avoid any damage to the rack.

Prepare the Universal Fluid Drawer

  1. ClosedRemove all fluid bottles and clean all fluids and waste from area.

Prepare the Waste Drawer

  1. ClosedRemove the Waste Bottle and Solid Waste Container from the drawer.
  2. Dispose of waste according to the customer's laboratory protocols.

Secure the Distributor

  1. Open the Service Drawer.
  2. ClosedInsert foam to the left of the Distributor.
  3. ClosedCarefully insert the foam protector block around the Distributor.
  4. ClosedPress the foam protector against the Incubators and then push it down.
  5. Close the Service Drawer.

Prepare the Panther System PC and USB Cables

  1. Unplug all cables from the back of the PC and remove PC from the system.
  2. ClosedRoll up the USB cable into the PC computer compartment of the system.

Secure the Pipettors

  1. ClosedRemove all objects from the Panther system, to include the following:.
    • Both doors
    • Both Side Panels
    • Canopies
    • Pipettor flaps
    • All trim pieces
    • Panther feet
    • Monitor and monitor arm
    • Barcode scanner and bracket
    • Center divider
    • Sample Shield
    • All MTUs from Input Queue
  2. ClosedSlide the center pipe isolation piece over the X-pipettor bar.
  3. ClosedSlide the right pipe isolation piece over the X-pipettor bar.
  4. ClosedSlide the left pipe isolation piece over the X-pipettor bar.
  5. ClosedSlide the pipe isolation pieces over the left Y-pipettor bar.
  6. ClosedSlide the pipe isolation pieces over the right Y-pipettor bar.
  7. ClosedInsert foam material for the left pipettor arm onto the pipettor guide rods.
  8. ClosedInsert foam material for the right pipettor arm onto the pipettor guide rod.
  9. ClosedFinal Preparation of the pipettors for shipment.

Final Inspection

  1. Check to be sure all cables are secured and not damaged.
  2. Check to be sure the pipettor arms are secured.
  3. Check to be sure all liquid spills have been cleaned up and all dust has been wiped off the system.
