Luminometer Darkcount Procedure

Purpose

The purpose of this procedure is to determine if the Luminometer housing and injector are light tight (no light leaks) and to ensure that PMTPhotomultiplier tube dark count performance is acceptable.

Time Required

• 10 minutes

Parts and Materials Required

• Panther System PC

Procedure

1. Open Service Software.
2. Click the 6. Luminometer tab.

   

3. Select Luminometer from the Initialize drop-down box.

   

4. Click Initialize. This initializes the Luminometer module.

   

5. In the Measure tab, verify that the Measurement Time is set to 2 seconds and verify that Dark Count Command is selected.

   

6. Click Start.

   

7. The darkcount value, measured in RLUs, appears in the field below Measurement Time.

   

Pass Criteria

If the RLURelative light unit reading is less than 1,000 RLUs, the Darkcount Luminometer Procedure Passes. Otherwise, the procedure is considered Failed.
