Uncrating the Panther System

Parts and Materials Required

• Cordless drill with Phillips PH2 bit

Time Required

• 30 minutes

Procedure

1. Verify that the ShockWatch Impact Indicator was not triggered.

   Caution—If the impact indicator was triggered, take pictures of the triggered sensor. Continue uncrating the system and photograph any damage you find. Report this information to your manager.

   

2. Verify that the TiltWatch indicator does not display that the crate was tipped or mishandled.

   

3. Inspect the crate for any obvious damage and take pictures of any damage.
4. On the backside of the crate, remove all screws labeled OPEN HERE that secure the upper panel.

   

5. Remove the 2 foam inserts from the left and right back sides of the crate.

   

6. On the front side of the crate, remove the 2 screws that secure the ramp support board.

   

7. Unfold the two ramp supports and place the ramp support board between them. Secure the ramp support board using the 2 screws removed in previous step.

   

8. Remove all screws labeled OPEN HERE that secure the ramp to the crate.

   

9. Carefully lower the ramp.

   

10. Remove the ramp board.

    

11. Place the ramp board at the end of the ramp with the beveled side up.

    

12. Remove the screws that secure the holding blocks and remove the two blocks.

    

13. If the left and right stabilizing rods are not raised, raise them on the system.

    
    

14. Remove the thin strip of wood either underneath the Panther system or on the side of the Panther system and place it between the crate and the ramp.

    

15. Remove the two foam inserts located on the left and right sides of the Panther system.

    

16. Carefully pull the Panther system down and off the ramp.

    Warning—Please use caution. The Panther system is heavy and may roll off the ramp.

17. Inspect the inside of the crate for any loose objects from the Panther system that may have fallen off during shipping.
18. Remove the plastic covering the system.
    

    
    

19. Remove the packing foam from the X-axis, Y-axis, and Z-axis of each pipettor arm.

    

20. If requested, save all packing foam and materials in the crate for possible relocation of the system. Otherwise, discard all packing material.

21. Place the Panther system at the customer's specified location.
