Electro-Magnetic Compatibility
The electrical design in the Panther system is developed to pass all electrical safety and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements:
- A primary main filter is used in addition to the Power Supply primary filter to reduce conducted emission from the system and increase conducted immunity.
- The +24V power and CAN-bus connections between COP and CU PCBs are filtered with additional SMD-ferrites
- System Inputs and Outputs is protected by SMD filter and RC-networks
- All specific metal housing parts is connected to the base ground via a screwed connection. This is especially important for all user accessible modules, such as the load stations, to discharge possible static energy.
- PCBs that are assembled directly on a grounded metal sheet are electrical connected to that metal sheet by the PCB mounting screws.
- All CU PCBs are 4 layer PCBs, with one internal ground layer.
- The buried capacitance technology places the internal ground and the +5V layer close together, forming a very good high frequency capacitor to improve EMI.
