Draining the Coalescing Trap Procedure

Parts and Materials Required

• Proper PPE
• Flat tray to catch fluid
• Allen wrench, 8 mm

Time Required

• 10 minutes

Removal Procedure

1. Put on proper PPE.
2. Open the Waste Drawer.
3. Locate the coalescing drain plug on the right side of the Waste Drawer.

   

4. Place a flat tray underneath the coalescing drain plug to catch any fluid that drains out.
5. Using an 8 mm Allen wrench, slowly open the coalescing drain plug.

   

6. After all fluid has drained, close the coalescing drain plug.

   

7. Properly dispose of the liquid waste fluid from the drain.
8. Clean the areas with bleach/water/alcohol that fluid from the trap came into contact with.
9. Properly dispose of gloves.
