Inspection of Teach Caps for Damage

Purpose

Inspection of Panther Diti teach tool cap for any discrepancies, such as holes or cracks before use.

  • A small number of Panther Diti teaching caps have been found to have holes in them. Damaged teach caps result in a failure of the Pressure Integrity (PI) test on the pipettor arms. Inspection of the cap is necessary to ensure that it is intact to prevent this failure.

Parts and Materials Required

  • Panther DiTi Cap Teach Tool [P/N 902963]

Time Required

  • 2 minutes

Procedure

  1. Holding the teach cap to a light source, inspect the teaching cap for any holes, particularly towards the center of the cap.

  2. Discard damaged teach caps.
