MTU Expansion Visual Alignment Cues

Part A - Left-to-Right Alignment

• Make sure sides of the MTUMulti-tube unit—Container used to process tests in the instrument. An MTU contains five separate reaction tubes. The MTU is moved through the instrument by the linear distributor and includes five tiplets for pipettiing to be used in the mag wash station. Sidecar are flush with the Panther.
• If step loss occurs during teaching or during assay processing, the scissor drive may have run out of travel due to the MTU Sidecar not being flush against the Panther.

Part B - Front-to-Back Alignment

• Check to make sure the spacing between the front edge of the MTU Queue and the scissor drive is 10mm +/- 0.5mm.

  

Part C - Rotational Alignment (left-right)

Check Points

• Ensure all sides of the MTU Sidecar are flush with the Panther frame.

  

• Shims can be added to the front or back of the MTU Sidecar if Scissor alignment is not correct.
