Lubing the MTU Input Queue Ball Detent

Parts and Materials Required

  • Teflon-based grease

Time Required

  • 10 minutes

Procedure

  1. Push down on the red button located on the MTUClosedMulti-tube unit—Container used to process tests in the instrument. An MTU contains five separate reaction tubes. The MTU is moved through the instrument by the linear distributor and includes five tiplets for pipettiing to be used in the mag wash station. Input Queue to unlock the MTU drawer.
  2. ClosedPull the MTU Input Queue out until the ball detent is visible and accessible.
  3. ClosedIf the ball detent is not already lubed, apply Teflon-based grease to it as shown in the following photo.
  4. Verify that the MTU Input Queue opens and closes easily and freely.
