Waste Bottle Male Fitting Removal and Replacement

Parts and Materials Required

  • Proper PPE
  • Crescent wrench, 8 in
  • WASTE BOTTLE MALE FITTING (INSERT 3/8 NPT-M)

Time Required

  • 15 minutes

Removal Procedure

  1. Put on proper PPE.
  2. Power down the Panther System and PC.
  3. Open the Waste Drawer and remove the Waste Bottle.
  4. ClosedUsing a crescent wrench, carefully remove the waste bottle male fitting..

Replacement Procedure

  1. If the old Waste Bottle male couplings (grey) are installed, install the new CPC Couplings (white).
  2. Reverse the removal procedure.
    Note—Make sure not to over-torque to prevent the male fitting from breaking. The male fitting must be mounted flush with the coupling block.
  3. Lubricate the O-ring using Dow Corning High Vacuum Grease.

Verification

  1. Start the Panther System and ensure vacuum levels are within specification.
