Installing or Replacing the NEW Waste Bottle Block

Parts and Materials Required

  • Absorbent spill-protection pads
  • FSE Tool Kit
  • High Vacuum Grease
  • Mounting Block, Waste Bottle

Time Required

  • 20 minutes

Procedure

  1. Power down the Panther System.
  2. Place spill-protection pads below the work area.
  3. ClosedOpen the Waste Drawer and remove the Waste Bottle.

  1. ClosedRemove the two recessed hex socket screws that secure the Waste Bottle Block to the side of the Waste Drawer.

  2. ClosedCut the liquid waste hose from the input from the bottom of the removed Waste Bottle Block and attach each hose to the corresponding fitting on the new Waste Bottle Block. Then repeat this process for the displaced air hose, moving it from the old Waste Bottle Block to the new Waste Block Bottle.

Note—For reference, in the image for Step 5, the view is from the side where the Waste Bottle Block attaches to the side of the Waste Drawer. The red arrow indicates the direction that waste flows into the waste bottle. The blue arrow indicates the flow of air out of the waste bottle, through the coalescing trap and filter, back into the vacuum system.
  3. ClosedUse the two hex screws to loosely attach the new Waste Bottle Block to the side of the Waste Drawer.

  4. Grease the connectors with High Vacuum Grease.
  5. With the mounting screws loose, lift the Waste Bottle Block up as high as it will travel, then tighten the two screws.
  6. Fully seat the Waste Bottle in the waste drawer.
  7. Loosen the two mounting screws and push down on the waste bottle.
  8. Allow the waste bottle to settle, then fully tighten the mounting screws.

Verification

  1. Verify that the Waste Drawer opens and closes smoothly.
  2. Use Service Software to monitor the Panther vacuum pressure. After 5 to 10 minutes the Panther vacuum pressure should settle into a range of 237 mb ± 34 mb.
  3. Verify that the system successfully passes PrimeClosedOperation of pumping fluid through tubing to ensure proper and consistent fluid delivery (remove air from the tubing, etc.)..
  4. Discard the old Waste Bottle Block.
