Wash and Deactivation Buffer Solenoid Valve Removal and Replacement

  • 20 minutes

Removal Procedure

  1. Put on proper PPE.
  2. Power down the Panther System.
  3. Locate the solenoid valve that you want to replace
  4. Using a 2.5 mm Allen wrench, remove the two lower screws that secure the solenoid valve to the mounting plate.
    Warning—ClosedDo not remove the top screws shown in the following photo (indicated in red). Remove only the screws from the bottom (indicated in green).
  5. ClosedRemove the tubing that is connected to the solenoid valve by sliding it off the valve barb fitting.
  6. Remove the solenoid valve.
  7. ClosedUnplug the connector from the main Universal Fluids Drawer PCB.
  8. ClosedRemove the two solenoid valve wire leads from the connector. Note the correct wiring orientation as shown in the following photo.

Replacement Procedure

  1. Reverse the removal procedure.

Verification

  1. Start up the Panther System and PrimeClosedOperation of pumping fluid through tubing to ensure proper and consistent fluid delivery (remove air from the tubing, etc.). the system (see the Panther System Operator's Manual).
  2. Inspect for leaks around the valve fittings.
  3. Without disconnecting the quick-connect fitting, unscrew the bottle from the bottle cap assembly and inspect the aspiration tube to ensure it was fully primed and the valve is actuating between the A and B bottles.
