Bleach Bottle Fitting

Implementation

On Panther Systems below SN 196, replace the old Bleach Bottle Fitting with the new white one.

On Panther Systems 196 and above, the new Bleach Bottle Fitting is pre-installed.

Parts and Materials Required

  • Bleach Bottle Fitting Kit
    • Bottle fitting
    • Fitting nut
    • Fluid Line fitting

Time Required

  • 15 minutes

Removal Procedure

  1. Open the Universal Fluids drawer.
  2. Remove the bleach bottle from the drawer.
  3. Empty the bleach bottle.
  4. Reaching inside the bleach bottle, unscrew the cylindrical nut securing the fitting in the bottle.
  5. ClosedRemove the fitting and aspirator tube assembly from the bottle.

  6. ClosedCarefully pull the aspirator tube (with short coupling tube) off of the fitting barb.
    Note—This aspirator tube and coupling tubing is re-used so do not damage the tubing. Using a dry kimwipe or emery cloth helps to grip the coupler tube while pulling it off of the barb.

  7. Remove the mating quick-connect fitting from the Bleach fluid line in the Universal Fluid drawer.
  8. Dispose of the 2 fitting halves and the cylindrical nut. Keep and re-use the aspirator tube and coupler.
  9. Proceed to the Replacement Procedure.

Replacement Procedure

  1. Install the aspirator tubing and coupling on the new barbed fitting.
    Note—The color of the new fitting is white, and the color of the old version is almond.
  2. Push the aspirator tubing into the coupler tubing as far as possible.
  3. Install the new fitting/aspirator tube assembly into the bleach bottle by tightening the new nut on the inside of the bottle.
  4. If the end of the Bleach fluid line tubing in the Universal Fluid drawer was stretched out and/or deformed by the previous barbed fitting, using an X-acto knife, cut 1.5 cm off of the tubing to provide a clean tubing end for the new barbed fitting to mate against.
  5. Install the mating quick-connect fitting on the Bleach fluid line in the Universal Fluid drawer.
  6. Fill the Bleach bottle to the Fill line indicated on the bottle.

Verification

  1. PrimeClosedOperation of pumping fluid through tubing to ensure proper and consistent fluid delivery (remove air from the tubing, etc.). the system and inspect the bleach fluid line for air leaks.
