TCR Carousel Drip Shield Installation

Purpose

This procedure describes how to install the TCRTarget capture reagent—An assay-specific reagent added as part of specimen pipetting. Carousel drip shield. The drip shield will serve the following functions:

• Provide a cover for the TCR Carousel and barcode reader.
• Protect against accidental fluid spills in the area.
• Provide a parking location for the Luminometer injectors during service calls.

Parts and Materials Required

• Proper PPE

• 4 mm hex key
• KIT, TCR MIXER DRIP SHIELD

Time Required

• 30 minutes

Procedure

1. Put on proper PPE.

2. Power down the Panther System.
3. Open the right side panel of the system.
4. Remove the M5X12 screw on the TCR Carousel.

   

5. Position the TCR Carousel Drip Shield as shown in the following photo. Route the coolant hose under the drip shield. Ensure the cable fits between the drip shield and the Sample Bay.

   

6. Secure the drip shield in place using the M5X12 screw and a flat washer included in the TCR Mixer Drip Shield Kit. If the Drip Shield does not fit in place properly because of the interference with the TCR Mixer Motor Mount, then the hole for the M5X12 screw may need to be elongated to allow the Drip Shield to move into place. 

   

   The recommended hole length is 8 mm which is equal in length to the slot for the pin. This can be accomplished with a round file or needle file.

   

7. Re-secure the Panther system right-side panel.
