Removal Procedure

  1. Power down the Panther System.
  2. Ensure that the Sample Pipettor is out of the way, so that it will not be damaged (link to safely moving the pipettor out of the way.
  3. At the TCR Carousel PCB board, unplug the cable that goes from the TCR Carousel to the COP. (Picture)
  4. Using the 4 mm ball driver or Allen key, remove the three bolts that secure the TCR Carousel. (Picture)
  5. Pull the TCR Carousel module out of the system.
  6. Turn the TCR Carousel module upside down and gently rest it on a flat surface. Be careful not to damage the barcode reader.
  7. Using the 2.5 mm ball driver or Allen key, loosen (but do not remove) the four bolts and washers that secure the TCR Carousel motor to the belt tensioning bracket.
  8. Turn the TCR Carousel right-side up and gently rest it on a flat surface.
  9. Using the 3 mm ball driver or Allen key, loosen (but do not remove) the four bolts that secure the belt tensioning bracket to the TCR base plate.
  10. Slide the TCR Carousel motor and belt tensioning bracket assembly until the auto-tensioning spring is fully compressed.
  11. While the auto-tensioning spring is fully compressed, use the 3 mm ball driver or Allen key to tighten the four bolts that secure the belt tensioning bracket to the TCR base plate. This will slacken the TCR Carousel belt.
  12. Turn the TCR Carousel module upside down and gently rest it on a flat surface. Be careful not to damage the barcode reader.
  13. Remove the TCR Carousel belt.

Replacement Procedure

  1. Insert the new TCR Carousel belt. Ensure that the teeth of the belt go around the TCR Carousel motor shaft and the TCR Carousel rotating shaft.
  2. Turn the TCR Carousel right-side up and gently rest it on a flat surface.
  3. Using the 3 mm ball driver or Allen key, loosen the four bolts that secure the belt tensioning bracket to the TCR base plate. The slack of the TCR Carousel belt will be removed.
  4. Using the 3 mm ball driver or Allen key, tighten the four bolts that secure the belt tensioning bracket to the TCR base plate.
  5. Turn the TCR Carousel module upside down and gently rest it on a flat surface. Be careful not to damage the barcode reader.
  6. Using the 2.5 mm ball driver or Allen key, tighten the four bolts and washers that secure the TCR Carousel motor to the belt tensioning bracket.
  7. Turn the TCR Carousel right-side up.
  8. Using the 4 mm ball driver or Allen key, insert and tighten the three bolts that secure the TCR Carousel module to the system.
  9. Plug the COP cable into the TCR Carousel PCB.
  10. Power on the Panther System.
  11. Start Service Software.

Alignment/Calibration/Prime/Firmware

  1. Perform a firmware upgrade.
  2. Perform a pipettor auto teach to the TCR Carousel.

Verification

  1. Verify TCR scanning.
