Parts and Materials Required

  • Distributor X-Axis Flex Cable
  • 30 cm ruler

Time Required

  • 5 minutes

Procedure

  1. Lay the cable out flat.
Note—When folding the flex cable, do not make a hard crease. Leave the bend slightly rounded (~1 mm end radius). If the bend is creased, the flex cable is likely to break.

Long End (Plugged into Main PCB)

  1. ClosedMeasure 63 mm from one end of the cable (and connector) and mark the cable.
  2. ClosedFold the flex cable at a 90° angle, as shown in the following photo. (Note the orientation of the flex cable connector.)
  3. ClosedMake a 90° fold at the base of the connector, as shown in the following photo.

Short End (Plugged into Z/Theta PCB)

  1. ClosedOn the opposite end of the flex cable, measure 28 mm from the end of the cable (and connector).
  2. ClosedFold the flex cable at a 90° angle, as shown in the following photo. (Note the orientation of the flex cable connector.).
  3. ClosedOn the same end (short end) of the flex cable, measure 30 mm from the edge of the flex cable, and make another mark, as shown in the following photo.
  4. ClosedMake a 90° fold at this 30 mm mark, as shown in the following photo.
  5. ClosedMake a 90° fold at the base of the connector, as shown in the following photo.
  6. ClosedThe cable should look like the following illustration.
