New Sample Tip Chute Assembly [BloodBank ONLY]

What is Affected

Some systems have experienced failures due to the clogging of Sample Tip chutes.

The current tip chutes are angled to direct tips towards the center of the waste bag. Tips ejected through this design deposit a solid residue on the inside of the tip chute. This residue can build and clog the tip chute. A clogged tip chute will prevent tips from being ejected properly, leading to a system failure.

A new straight tip chute [ASY-09343] is now available that allows tips to fall straight down into the Waste Bag. The Straight Sample Tip Eject Chute minimizes the chance of deposits inside the chute as tips will fall straight downwards without encountering any obstructions.

For Panther serial number P0374 and below, simply replace the old Sample Tip Eject Chute with the new straight chute [ASY-09343].

For Panther serial number P0375 – P1989 the shield installed underneath the Mid-Bay Drawer MUST be replaced with a new, modified Panther Mid Bay Drawer Shield [ASY-10128] to accommodate the new straight tip chute.

For Panther serial number P1990 and above, simply replace the old Sample Tip Eject Chute with the new straight chute [ASY-09343].
