Assay Cartridge Loading/Storage Carousel General Information

The AssayProcedures required to prepare and perform a specific test. In the context of this document, assay refers exclusively to a Hologic test, such as Aptima Combo or Ultrio. Cartridge Storage Carousel can store up to 28 assay cartridges. The carousel loading drawer opens to allow the operator to load up to 14 Fusion assay cartridges. After the drawer is closed, the Rotary Distributor transfers the assay cartridges from the loading carousel to the storage carousel, which is maintained at 15°C. The drawer has an interlock that ensures that it cannot be opened if in use during assay processing.

Cartridge positions are embossed in the black plastic rim. Cartridge numbering embossed in region highlighted in red. Cartridge must be placed in position when prompted. Placing the cartridge too early, may cause the cartridge to be sent to the trash.
