Waste on the Fly Installation Verification

Procedure

  1. Open Service Software.
  2. Turn the Vacuum off.
  3. Click on IC-Waste on the Fly tab. Select the IC-Waste on the Fly in the drop down list in the Common Control window
  4. Click Initialize.
  5. Verify there are no errors.
  6. ClosedCalibrate the Waste Drawer bag sensor.
    1. Open Service Software.
    2. Click on IC-Waste on the Fly.
    3. Click on Vacuum and Drawer.
    4. Close all doors and panels on the system.
    5. Under Waste Bag, click on Calibrate Waste Bag.

Solid Waste on the Fly Verification Procedure

Tip Carousel & Tiplet Catcher

  1. ClosedRun 2 Cycle of the WOTF OQ.
    1. Click on the P-System tab.
    2. Select the Waste and UF tab.
    3. Enter 2 in the Cycles field.
    4. Select Initialize, Report, Pipettor Tip Carousel and MTUClosedMulti-tube unit—Container used to process tests in the instrument. An MTU contains five separate reaction tubes. The MTU is moved through the instrument by the linear distributor and includes five tiplets for pipettiing to be used in the mag wash station. TipletClosedDisposable tip within an MTU. Catcher.
    5. Ensure you have at least 4 MTUs loaded, prior to starting this test or the test will fail.
    6. Click on WOTF OQ Test to run an OQ.
      Note— Refer to TB-01493 if the test fails.

Liquid Waste on the Fly Verification Procedure

  1. Verify that the vacuum pressure is between 6 and 8 in Hg (-203 to -271 mbar).
  2. Click on the IC-Waste on the Fly tab.
  3. ClosedSelect the Liquid Waste on the Fly tab.

  4. ClosedVerify the Removable Bottle Sensors are reading Present, Empty, and Not Full with no fluid present.

  5. ClosedVerify the Static bottle sensors.
    1. ClosedVerify the liquid level state is 0%.
    2. Verify the presence sensor is reading Present.

    3. Turn off the vacuum.
    4. Open the cap on the permanent bottle and add approximately 1L of DI water. DO NOT OVERFILL.
    5. ClosedVerify liquid level actual percentage increases as liquid is added to the static bottle.

    6. Reinstall the cap.
    7. Start the vacuum.
  6. ClosedTurn ON the Transfer Pump.

    1. Allow Static Bottle liquid level to drop to 0%.
    2. Turn OFF the transfer pump.
    3. ClosedOpen the solenoid valve.

    4. Read and verify the state of the solenoid valve.
    5. Close the solenoid valve.
    6. Read and verify the state of the solenoid valve.
  7. ClosedVerify the flood sensors are present and reading No Liquid.

Universal Fluids on the Fly Verification Procedure

  1. Place the bleach bottle into its proper position in the Universal Fluid Drawer.
  2. ClosedFill with bleach until you see the float and verify that the indicator light shows Full.

  3. Start Panther Main and run PrimeClosedOperation of pumping fluid through tubing to ensure proper and consistent fluid delivery (remove air from the tubing, etc.)..
  4. If the Prime is completed with no errors the verification is complete.
  5. Replace ALL fluids with a fresh set for the customer.
